The 15th edition of the Venice Architecture Biennale is to be held from 28 May to 27 November 2016 in the Arsenal district and the Giardini pavilions, but also the City where the national presentations take place, including the Grand Duchy's pavilion in the Ca' del Duca in the San Marco district.
An interdisciplinary team with Claude Ballini, Serge Ecker, Daniel Grünkranz and Panajota Panotopoulou, the result of an international call for projects, has been tasked by LUCA, Luxembourg Center for Architecture - mandated for the 6th time by the Ministry of Culture to organise the Luxembourg contribution to the Venice Architecture Biennale - with the conception and production of the exhibition. The interdisciplinary team includes three architects and architecture theorists and one visual artist moving between Luxembourg and Austria.
Set within the general theme of 'Reporting from the front', the project 'Tracing transitions' of the Luxembourg team identifies the issue of housing and specifically the lack of housing and access to equitable and sustainable habitat in Luxembourg and the Greater Region on the social level as crucial topics, fronts on which it is essential to fight.
The opening of the Luxembourg Pavillon takes place on Saturday, 28 May 2016.
With over 230,000 visitors, the Venice Architecture Biennale is one of the most prestigious events in the field of architecture, urban planning and land development, bringing together professionals, critics, journalists, fans and players of architecture, building owners and stakeholders.
