LFF's new animated video explains the Grand Duchy's role within the European single market.

'Luxembourg in the EU Single Market: Offering you a world of choice'

Luxembourg For Finance (LFF), the Grand Duchy's agency for the development of the financial centre, launched a new animated video at the end of January 2016. 'Luxembourg in the EU Single Market: Offering you a world of choice' shows how the internal market expands the possibilities of choices available to Europe's citizens in nearly every field, offering them the choice of taking advantage of the Grand Duchy's unique expertise in cross-border finance.

The video shows how a borderless Europe is a living, breathing everyday being in the Grand Duchy. Every day more than half of the Grand Duchy's working population comes in from the neighbouring countries; more than 220,000 foreigners from other EU countries consider the Grand Duchy as the country where they feel at home.

But it is not only people who feel that way in the Grand Duchy. A great many companies have chosen the Grand Duchy as the home for their European activities, whether in industry or in finance. They have registered their companies in the Grand Duchy, to deploy their activities throughout the European single market.

The video explains how, thanks to a common foundation of European rules, Europe's citizens are able to move around freely within the EU for work and setting up home. Europe's citizens have more than just the freedom to buy a German car or have a website designed by a Swedish communication agency; they are also able to save for their retirement by investing in mutual funds in Luxembourg, provide for their children's future by taking out life assurance, or have some of their wealth managed by a Luxembourgish bank.

The Grand Duchy has developed unique skills in the field of financial services, enabling it to offer an unequalled choice of cross-border services and products. It has become the leading financial centre in Europe for investment funds and one of the main centres for wealth management, while the Luxembourg Stock Exchange is the world's leading market for international bond listings.

The video is the second in a series of animated films produced for LFF, following on from the success of 'A Little Piece of Luxembourg Everywhere', which showed that in addition to being a first-class financial centre, the country also plays a major role in a large number of industries.

LFF invites everyone to watch this new film on its video blog and to discover how the Grand Duchy offers consumers a host of choices and businesses access to more than 500 million consumers in 28 countries.
