From 16 to 18 February 2016, Luxexpo (Luxembourg-Kirchberg) will be hosting the world's largest optic fibre event - Fibre to the Home (FTTH). The 13th edition of the event comprises workshops and lectures on the subject of fibre optics. For the 2016 edition, 107 exhibitors and partners will be getting together in the Grand Duchy. On 17 February, Prime Minister and Minister of Communications Xavier Bettel will deliver the official opening address.
From 3D printing to virtual reality - optic fibres can open up the way to even faster connection speeds and the carriage of greater volumes of data. FTTH provides innovative businesses in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT) with an opportunity to present their products and solutions, and to make new contacts.
At the same time, the event enables the Grand Duchy to showcase its advantages in terms of communication infrastructure.
Organised by the FTTH Council Europe since 2004, the FTTH brings together professionals in the sector for three days - each year in a different European city. The event enables the community to discuss the evolution of the optic fibre network, to pool their experiences, and to take a look ahead to the future.
