The hiking event Mullerthal Trail Season Opening launches the start of the hiking season this year, on Sunday 10 April, in Medernach. At 9 a.m., guides accompany the groups from different starting points in the region, give explanations on the way and take people to Medernach while hiking on the Mullerthal Trail.
The various starting points are the following:
Larochette - Medernach: 6.3 km (3 hours walk); departure at Larochette church
Beaufort - Medernach: 9.2 km, (3.5 hours walk); departure at the parking lot of Beaufort castle
Château Meysembourg - Medernach: 11.4 km, (4.5 hours walk); departure is at Meysembourg castle.
At the arrival of Medernach, at the sport’s hall, a varied animation programme is offered like craft workshops for children, games for children and a monkey tree. The mobile nature house can be visited. Tours on the horse carriage are offered as well as a geological hike and Geocaching. A regional information stand is available and the regional producers make you taste and buy their products. Food and drinks are also provided by the local associations of Medernach, Ermsdorf and the surrounding villages.
Between 2 and 6 p.m., we offer shuttle buses that take the participants back to their cars or points of departure in Larochette, Beaufort und Meysembourg. Please be sure to register in advance for your hiking tour. This will enable a better coordination of the shuttle buses.
