The urban rock festival 'Rock um Knuedler', organised for the first time in 1991, attracts pop-rock fans to the heart of the capital city. Over the years, with more than 15,000 visitors, the free open-air festival has become one of the highlights of the festival season in the Grand Duchy. With ten hours of non-stop music, it guarantees a top atmosphere.
Like in every year, he festival is held the day after the World MeYouZik Festival, which also takes place on the Place Guillaume II (the Knuedler). This music festival, which is also free, celebrates multiculturality, coexistence and tolerance.
For the 2016 edition, 18 bands will be claiming the public's attention. On Sunday 17 July, national as well as internationally renowned artists, such as Go By Brooks, Fox, Scarlet Anger, Ice In My Eyes or Versus You will play on three stages. The main stage (Lion Stage) is on the Place Guillaume II (the Knuedler), the second on the Place Clairefontaine (Place Clairefontaine Stage), and the third is in the Rue du Saint- Esprit (Holy Ghost Stage).
2016's headliner is certainly Marlon Roudette. The British singer is a former member of the band Mattafix and has started an internationally acclaimed solo career.
'Rock um Knuedler', organised by the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO), is part of the Summer in the City programme, the aim of which is to transform the city of Luxembourg into a place for living, relaxing and having fun throughout the summer months.
