What's Luxembourg's role in Europe? What exactly are the Schengen Agreements? This summer you'll find the answers to your questions. During the tour the Luxembourg City Tourist Office organises this summer, you will discover the EU and the role that Luxembourg has played in its construction in a new light - from Luxembourg City, where the EU's founding father was born, to Schengen.
During one Saturday afternoon, an LCTO guide will accompany you on an instructive trip, starting in Luxembourg City. After a guided walk through the historic heart of the capital, a UNESCO World Heritage site, you take a comfortable bus to join Schengen, where the famous agreements, which are still crucial today for the European Union, were concluded over 30 years ago. You will find yourself in the impressive three-country border region of Luxembourg, Germany and France where stunning views await you, as well as tasting of a selection of Luxembourg wines and crémants. Eventually, the bus will take you back to Luxembourg City.
Tours take place on Saturday afternoons until 24 September 2016. They are conducted in French, English and German. The start is at 2 p.m. at the Place de la Constitution in Luxembourg City; the return is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Seats are limited, and so it is necessary to buy tickets in advance at the Luxembourg City Tourist Office. The price is 22.5 euros for adults and 11.5 euros for children between the ages of 6 and 16.
