Reform of family allowances

Allocations de familleIn order to best ensure the children’s future, the reform of family allowances will from now on link family allowances to each child individually.

The family allowance amount is now 265 euros per month for each child born after 1 August 2016.

The amount increases with age as follows:

  • 20 euros for each child from the age of 6 years;
  • 50 euros for each child from the age of 12 years.

For eligible children born before 1 August 2016 and who are also part of a 2 or more children household, the old amount of the family allowance and bonus for children remain unchanged.

The new amount of the back-to-school allowance is:

  • 115 euros for children between 6 and 12 years;
  • 235 euros for children from the age of 12 years.

The disabled children's allowance is increased to 200 euros per child.

Households wishing to benefit from the family allowance can now submit their application via MyGuichet.

The National Family Allowance Fund (Caisse Nationale des Prestations Familiales - CNPF) is now called the Children's Future Fund (Caisse pour l'avenir des enfants - CAE).
