The event is the latest buzz in the agri-foodstuffs sector - the Food Summit is to be held in Luxembourg City on Tuesday, 7 February 2017. It will be attended by 300 professionals from the food ecosystem, all with the same aim: bringing the players together and getting them involved, so as to promote local stakeholders and good practices in the sector.
A promising first edition
Round-table discussions, talks, tastings, demonstrations, awards - the variety of the programme for this first edition in the Grand Duchy looks very promising ! The agenda includes a wide range of subjects, from the Made in Luxembourg label to environment-friendly packaging and promotion of the habit of eating locally-produced food.
A number of major players in the sector will be taking part, pooling their experience and good practices, including Restopolis, the school catering service of the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth, and the Naturschutz Fleesch cooperative, represented by its president, Hubert de Schorlemer.
At the end of this intense day, there will also be an awards ceremony: The Luxembourg Food Awards will start at 8 p.m.
Luxembourg Food Awards – a keenly awaited ceremony
The aim of the Awards is clear: to encourage, promote and circulate best practices in various areas of the field. To do so, ten awards (including three to multiple winners, in gold, silver and bronze categories) will be presented to stakeholders in the Grand Duchy's food sector: Collective Excellence Awards, Food Advisory Award, Grand Taste Award, Environment Award, etc. Whether they are service providers, distributors, farmers, etc., winners will be able to refer to the award in promoting themselves to their present or prospective customers and partners.
The event is being organised under the high patronage of Fernand Etgen, Ministry of Agriculture, Viticulture and Consumer Protection.
