The LINC conference takes place in the heart of the Ardennes

From 9 until 11 May 2017, the Oesling welcomes the international community of stakeholders in the development of rural economy.

09-lincEvery year, members of the various European LEADER initiatives come together in the context of the LINC conference (LEADER Inspired Network Community). The event's goal is to bring together international stakeholders in rural development in order to exchange ideas.

The 2017 edition of the LINC seminar will take place in the area of LEADER Éislek, the Grand Duchy's Oesling region. The region, located in the north of the country, attracts its many visitors through its natural beauty, green landscapes, narrow rocky valleys, fairytale castles and its famous Stauséi (barrier lake).

LEADER, the European Network for Rural Development, is an initiative by the European Union seeking to establish links between projects and actors of rural economy. Since its debut in Luxembourg in 1991, LEADER has become an integral part of the national and regional politics for the development of rural areas. As of this day, 440 innovative projects have been put into action by the many participating actors. In the Grand Duchy, 5 LEADER regions exist: Lëtzebuerg West, Miselerland, Mullerthal, Atert-Wark and Éislek.

Study Tours – visit the regions while studying

The conference offers an ideal context to promote the rural regions of the Grand Duchy. LINC Study Tours are being organised in the five LEADER regions of Luxembourg. The participants can visit the different projects supported by the programme. All of the study visits are planned so that everyone of the participants can get acquainted with more than one project, meet the administrators of various projects and exchange ideas with local actors.

LINC Walk

The 2017 edition offers a new experience: the LINC Walk over an 8 kilometre course, combining sports activities and tastings of local produce. Moreover, hikers will be able to enjoy the splendid landscapes surrounding the town of Vianden.
