LUXEMBOURG ART FAIR

Come and explore a fabulous artistic landscape of paintings, sculptures, photos and ceramics, wonderfully set off by a carefully designed, expressive architectural backdrop that will create the ideal atmosphere for browsing and buying. Visitors and collectors alike will admire this outstanding collection of works by renowned artists and exciting creations from new talents on the international art scene. The eclectic blend is one of the unique features of this edition.

MAGIC CARPETS 

2 December | 11.30am-12 noon | Luxembourg City | Free 

ON YOUR OWN OR WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY

Lisa the sewing fairy has been busily stitching away to produce this magic carpet, designed to introduce your little one to a fantastic world of textures, colours and shapes. Come along with your baby to this wonderful sensory discovery session.

ST BARBE FESTIVAL 

2 December | 5.15-7pm | Free | Lamadelaine | 

ON YOUR OWN OR WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY

This ceremony will begin with the laying of a wreath at the Miners' Monument, followed by a salvo of five thunderbolts. The torch-lit procession will then head to Lamadelaine parish church, where a special mass will be held for miners and firefighters. To conclude, the procession will lead the way to Lamadelaine leisure centre.

ST NICHOLAS PROCESSION

3 December | 1.30-6pm | Luxembourg City | 

ON YOUR OWN OR WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY

This huge St Nicholas procession features snowmen, dance troupes, majorettes, scouts, junior firefighters, "Tramsmusek", the "Père Fouettard" and St Nicholas himself, accompanied by his angels. The procession will set off from the station, heading through Place de Paris, Place de la Constitution, Grand-Rue and Rue Philippe II and ending up on Place Guillaume II.

WISHFUL SINGING – CHRISTMAS CAROLS

3 December | 6pm | Ettelbruck | €25

The female vocal ensemble "Wishful Singing" enjoys a fantastic reputation. Radiating outstanding musical talent and natural charm, the a cappella group creates a powerful, unique sound. The singers also have a surprisingly varied repertoire which often includes elements of choreography.

STEP BACK INTO THE PAST WITH THE PFAFFENTHAL LIVING MUSEUM

3 December | 2-6pm | Luxembourg City | 

ON YOUR OWN OR WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY

Become a 19th-century Luxembourger and explore Pfaffenthal as it would have been in 1867! You will have the pleasure of meeting Stëft, a street urchin who knows the area like the back of his hand, and a whole cast of other characters who will tell you about the history of their district.
