WORKSHOP – INTRODUCTION TO CAKE DESIGN

Have you always wanted to know how to cover a cake with fondant icing without leaving creases? How to use proper cake-decorating equipment? Or how to cut and decorate a cake for around ten people? You'll discover all this and much more at the "Introduction to cake design" workshop at CAKE Atelier – Emi's Sugar Art in Dudelange.

18TH BOOK AND CULTURES FAIR

3 March | 12 noon-7pm  | Luxembourg City

ON YOUR OWN OR WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY

During the Migration, Cultures and Citizenship Festival, with contributions from dozens of associations, bookshops and publishers, the Luxembourg Book and Cultures Fair – the leading book fair run by the non-profit movement – will be hosting around a hundred writers from several countries, with a great selection of talks and a wide variety of stands featuring literature from Portugal, Spain, Africa, Peru, Germany, France, Catalonia, Poland, Italy, Luxembourg, Iran, Albania, Galicia and Greece, among others. The event will take place at Luxexpo The Box in Kirchberg.

MINES AND MINERS – A GUIDED TOUR

3 March | 3-5pm | Esch-sur-Alzette | €17

The restored Katzenberg pithead in Ellergronn is the perfect place to explore Luxembourg's industrial past. Discover the "Salle des Pendus", the old forge, the small museum set up by the Cockerill Mine Association with fossils, lamps and tools, and a host of other artefacts. The tour starts at the Ellergronn Visitor Centre.

SECRET OF THE WORLD – EXHIBITION

4 March | 10am-6pm | Luxembourg City |  

ON YOUR OWN OR WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY

Four female Russian artists – Leila Gibadullina, Elena Dubskaya, Olga Oswald-Shorokhova and Elena Pankratova – invite you to visit the "Secret of the World" exhibition at the Russian Cultural and Scientific Centre in Luxembourg, where they will be presenting works of decorative art created over the last few years. The exhibition reflects the agreement between Luxembourg and Russia on cooperation in the fields of culture, education and science. It will open in the run-up to International Women's Day on 8 March, a major event in Russia, and will showcase artistic creations produced by women.

ANA MOURA – FADO CONCERT

After the huge success of "Desfado", the most widely acclaimed fado album since the death of Amália Rodrigues, Ana Moura returns with a new album of original music, "Moura", which has already gone triple platinum. This new album features contributions from a number of composers who often work with the fado artist. Ana Moura is back two years after her last appearance at Casino 2000, following a series of more than 100 performances worldwide.

ALEX JONSSON TRIO – JAZZ APERITIF

The Danish guitarist Alex Jønsson has already chalked up an impressive seven nominations at the Danish Music Awards. Now the acclaimed guitarist and his trio have released a new album, "Heart of Gold", which exudes all the relaxed intimacy of a living room concert, with atmospheric compositions, free floating chord progressions and group improvisations. The singer will be performing at Brasserie Wenzel
