Learning Lëtzebuergesch

A growing number of foreign residents in the Grand Duchy and cross-border workers feel the need to learn Luxembourgish. The Law of 2008 on Luxembourgish nationality requires all candidates for naturalisation to be tested in spoken Luxembourgish.

Language schools and a great number of initiatives of various types are trying to meet the growing demand for Luxembourgish classes.

There are many ways of learning Luxembourgish, including courses offered by private language schools, the National Languages Institute (INL), and the Adult Education Department at the Ministry of National Education, Children and Youth, in collaboration with secondary schools, municipalities and various associations.

And for those unable to attend classes, there are several possibilities for learning Luxembourgish online.
