Luxembourg offers a comprehensive and multilingual school system, modelled on the lines of the French system and leading towards an internationally recognised baccalaureate or a certificate of aptitude for the entry into professional life.
At the same time, a number of international schools offer curricula that are different from the public school system and are frequented mainly by children from expatriate communities.
The University of Luxembourg is the main institution of higher education in Luxembourg. It was founded in 2003 and offers a wide range of subjects, while maintaining at the same time a high quality of research in cooperation with universities and research institutes worldwide.
A number of foreign universities also have a campus in Luxembourg and encourage the exchange between students of different national and cultural backgrounds.
