An extract from the police records (or criminal records disclosure) is a copy of the national police records which is used to check a person's criminal record (natural or legal person).
It shows whether or not a person has any previous convictions (sentences handed down by Luxembourg criminal courts and, in some cases, foreign criminal courts).
The police record comprises the name and forename of the person concerned, the name and forenames of his mother and father and, if appropriate, of his spouse, his date and place of birth, his residence and profession, or an identification number.
An extract from the criminal record can be obtained:
- from the criminal records department;
- through municipal helpdesks (Biergerzenter);
- via email or fax.
The extract from the criminal record is in French and German.
Procedure: Detailed information can be obtained under 'Requesting an extract from the police record' on the Citizens' Portal.
