Finding accommodation

In the Grand Duchy, the rental and sales market is rather small, particularly in Luxembourg City and the surrounding area.

Consult the Housing Observatory (Observatoire de l'Habitat) website for information about advertised and recorded prices and rents.

To start your search for a new property to buy, you can either directly contact one of the many real estate agencies or a relocation agency, or find your dream property on one of the online real estate listings sites, such as www.athome.lu, www.habiter.lu or www.immotop.lu.

Relocation agencies provide a personalised service to take the stress out of setting up home: they take over the burden of administrative formalities, help you find accommodation, a school, etc.

Renting accommodation

If you rent accommodation through an estate agent, bear in mind that agency fees usually amount to one month’s rent, to which VAT is added at 17%.
